This is the largest painting that I ever painted! Since watercolors need to be flat rather than on an easel while being painted, I used a step stool so I could reach the details in the center of the paper. "Golden Trail" was commissioned by Golden West, the retirement community in Boulder, Colorado where my mother has spent many happy years. It currently hangs in the foyer of Golden West's sister community, Flatirons Terrace.

Anne Gifford is an award winning artist and the eight time poster artist for Colorado's Bolder Boulder 10K Memorial Day Race, one of the largest road races in the United States.
