Description

Our tote bags are made from soft, durable, poly-poplin fabric and include a 1" black strap for easy carrying on your shoulder.   All seams are double-stitched for added durability.   Each tote bag is machine-washable in cold water and is printed on both sides using the same image.

Artist's Description

This sphinx is at the entrance to the Masonic temple that serves as the national headquarters of the Supreme Council of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in the United States. It is generally known as "The House of the Temple", and was designed by famous architect John Russell Pope, whose other architectural wonders in Washington, D.C., include the Jefferson Memorial, the National Gallery of Art, and the National Archives. This building is in my neighborhood in the District of Columbia, and I frequently walk past it just to see this friendly sphinx, for he always winks at me and says, "Good day, sweetie" (don't let his closed eyes fool you, he sees everything).

About Cora Wandel

I enjoy photography and writing, and sometimes think of myself as a photojournalist. If there is a story to be told with a photograph, I tell it. As a longtime resident of Washington, DC, a lot of my photographs are of this area, and I enjoy writing in the description something about the shot -- it could be a short statement about an equestrian statue in the middle of a park, or a more intimate tale of the mausoleum where Abraham Lincoln's son, Willie, was entombed for the remaining three years of Lincoln's presidency after the boy's death.
