Historic Route 66 bisects the Texas Panhandle. The historic road has attracted it fair share of roadside attractions over the the years--some still in business, some not. Conway, Texas, is best known for its VW Ranch, a failed marketing gimmick to attract travelers to shops alongside old Route 66. The VW Beatles, planted nose-first, parody the famous Cadillac Ranch outside Amarillo. The graffitied VWs sit in the Texas sun next to the abandoned business venture. The derelict buildings provide extra canvas for budding graffiti artists.
