This is a drawing of my Grandma Leroux, she lived to be 102. She was a lovely person and a Pioneer, Homesteader to Alberta. When she was born, the Province of Alberta was not yet a Province, Canada was still called the Dominion of Canada and Alberta was known as part of the Northwest Territories. She knit, she practiced crochet, basket weaving, sewed all her childrens clothes, had a loom where she would spin wool and a loom to weave on, but best of all she knew the fine art of lace making, she would hav all her little pins in a small velvet cushion holding the lace and would make beautiful doilies, lace collars, etc. I miss her dearly, this portrait was done for her 100th birthday, which she danced at, with her arm in a cast....
