Description
The only green-backed heron, Butorides virescens, I've ever seen, he was dining on young frogs and tadpoles one April day at the swamp. I had the privilege of watching him as he fished; a bit of his lunch remains on the log just below the shadow.

He looks like a very determined bird. Great capture!
Rebecca Sherman replied:
He was definitely determined. It was really neat to watch him fish. He moved in slow motion from one side of the swamp to the other and back to the middle to that old fallen tree, fishing the whole time.
