Super high quality print, very happy with my purchase !!
This is Devils Tower National Monument located in Wyoming. It is the first site designated as a national monument. The Lakota Indians called what we know as Devils Tower, Grizzly Bear Lodge. Several Indian legends tell that the vertical grooves in the monolith were caused by giant grizzly bears attempting to climb to the top to attack children who had hidden there.

Where is it, John? l/f
Denise Clark
Very interesting rock formation John and beautifully captured. It reminds me a little of some near here which are the remaining plugs of volcanoes where the rest of the mountain has eroded away but, of course, this is a very old country so it most probably isn't that. l/f
John M Bailey replied:
Thank you Denise! I understand the experts still have various opinions on how it formed. A volcanic core is one of the possibilities! :)
