Acrylic on canvas 24x36" created in 2010.
The Gummies painting, by Wayne Salvatore, is quite impressive. I like the gray background with the dark green, orange, red, pink, blue, black, and yellow. I think that at first this painting might not really be able to be appreciated because of the fact that it seems to be so busy. I had to look at the painting for a few seconds before I was really able to see the great work that has been done with it. I do like the fact that there are heavy layers in this painting. I also like how the paint just seems to be everywhere. There are some places that are smeared a bit and others that are not. I would say that this is what it is really all about, when it comes to the creation of artwork. Artists, like Wayne, who are able to use a brush and paint and really just run the show with it. Wayne has done another great job with this painting and that should not have been surprising, as I have liked nearly every piece that he has done, but I really must say that he has done a number on this one. It looks great!
