Image was crooked on the tshirt.
On a photo shoot a few days ago, I took this photograph of these two little brothers, with only about two years between them. They were so sweet together and played well together. When I viewed the shot I took of them walking hand in hand up the winding road in the park, I couldn't help but think of the lyrics to the popular music ballad, "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother", which was written by Bobby Scott and Bob Russell. It was originally recorded by Kelly Gordon in 1969, then became a worldwide hit for The Hollies later that year, and then again for Neil Diamond in 1970. It has since been recorded by many others. It has several stories or legends as to the origin of the phrase, "He aint heavy....he's my brother." The lyrics of the song go like this--
The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where
Who knows when
But I'm strong
Strong enough to carry him
He ain't heavy, he's my brother
So on we go

I have always loved to take pictures. My first job, at age 16, was receptionist for our local newspaper, but the owners soon included me in taking photos, darkroom and writing articles. Years later, a terrible event in my personal life brought back a love of taking photos that I had not been pursuing to any great extent. My only child passed away at the age of 22. He was such a wonderful guy and I feel blessed that God chose me to be his mom. Reeling from his death, I sought some sort of diversion, needing to get my mind focused on anything besides my great loss. After a bad fall that resulted in surgery, I was recuperating at home and stir crazy. My husband took me out for drives in the country. We bought a new digital camera...
