Looks great...excellent work !

Jeff Burgess replied:

Thanks so much Sorin.

Delightful and elegant execution, Jeff, I love the light pastel tones and white framing!

Thank you for adding the histopry of this flower to the description box. I enjoyed reading about it and it has enhanced my enjoyment of the image. You have developed a very pleasing composition with beautiful pastel tones. I like the feeling of layers of many flowers. The color and style of the framong fits this image nicely. You have a great eye for art. I enjoyed seeing your other works on your site. V.

Jeff Burgess replied:

Thanks very much Linda. Your comment is really appreciated. I was also struck by the interesting history of this plant.

Terrific! Love the effect v/f

Jeff Burgess replied:

Thanks so much Martin.

Stunning presentation! v/f

Jeff Burgess replied:

Thanks so much....

I want to thank 'A Sense of Serenity', 'Flora', and 'Photography and Textures' for featuring this image. It is a favorite of mine....Such an amazing flower to come out at the first hint of spring. And yet, so shy to show its beauty.

Jeff, Very nice, v. Eva

Jeff Burgess replied:

Thanks so much Eva for you vote. Much appreciated. (again, another simple flower, but the complexity of it is simply amazing).

Thanks to 'Flora' and 'Photography and Textures' for the features. Much appreciated. Love the facebook posts as well.

Thanks for the feature in 'A Sense of Serenity'. Much appreciated.

Beautiful dreamy quality in your processing! Love the gentle colors!

Jeff Burgess replied:

Hey Jenn....thanks so much for taking the time to look and comment. Much appreciated.

Very well captured! I have been waiting three years now for mine to bloom, they may never as my climate for them is not ideal. Thanks for creating what I wait for happen now!

Jeff Burgess replied:

Thanks Mia. I like mine better than the Bridgeman Art Library post of the flower. Glad to see some resonance here.

Jeff this is exquisite ... beautifully composed ... gorgeous subtle light, gentle tones!!!! f/v

Jeff Burgess replied:

Thanks much Lois. I'm back to flowers......appropriate as for us on the Pacific Coast spring is coming out now in full.

This is, basically, the photo that made us want to go there. We finally did. Although we have many lovely photos from our own trip, lack of a helicopter caused us not to get this one. So when we decided to adorn the walls of our new house w some Lake Louise pix I went looking online and found this. Something struck me about it, though...the glacier is dirty. Must have been taken during the few weeks that there isn't snow every day. The glacier was sparkling white when we were there (June) because almost every day it got a fresh coat of snow. Dirt aside, looks great and we love it.

I absolutely love this print. Unfortunately the blemishes from the technique or originally on the metal do create a distraction from the piece. I positively disagree with vendor’s statement that it’s part of the process and not to be considered a flaw...baloney!!! I have other metal prints that have no flaws. I will give them credit for trying to resolve the issue with 3 attempts with the print but each arrived with flaws. However, I am keeping it because I love this print so much and I will live with it.

Artist's Description

This plant is one of the first to flower in spring in the Pacific Northwest. It is an evergreen and many different flowers have been genetically altered to be quite beautiful in their display. Interesting, the plant species can be poisonous. The other name of the plant is the Christmas Rose.....but it is NOT related to the rose. It is native to Europe and spreads accross the Mediterranean region and Central Europe, the north coast of Turkey and into the Caucasus. There is another plant that is located in China and another 'atypical' species that borders Turkey and Syria. Each flower has five petals and remain, once bloomed, for several months. Then the leaves get quite big. They are a very decorative plant and flowers can be quite colorful. They do like the shade and that is where I have them in my garden (under a large tulip tree). I have never had a problem growing them there and there has been some hybridization
