Description
This is the second half of a diptych entitled โOld Flames.โ This is a painting of one of a couple trucks parked in a field. They were on Tropical Trail on Merritt Island, Florida. This is a few miles south of the Kennedy Space Center. I am not sure why they were parked there. The red truck is now gone. This yellow truck is still parked in the same place. I drove by it several times before I decided do a painting of it.
A wooden fence was between them and Tropical Trail. Between and behind them was a wooden sign which says: โSmile, You're on Camera.โ Of course, this caused me to smile. This was a fun discovery.
I saw a raccoon crossing the road towards it while I was painting the first truck. I whimsically depicted a couple of raccoon in that painting. I suggested that they were looking for something. When I did this second painting of the diptych, I thought that I should carry on the raccoon theme. This time I hid a couple of baby raccoons hiding beneath the truck front fender and behind the front wheel. I imagined that the parent raccoons from the first painting were looking for their naughty kits.
Weeds were growing around and under the modified yellow pick-up truck. It was as if the owner thought that it ought to just be allowed to disintegrate. I never spoke to the owner. I wonder what the story was?
It is the rainy time of year here in central Florida. Cumulus clouds usually build every afternoon. There is often a lot of rain in the afternoon and evenings around here. I always enjoy painting the beautiful skies.
Tall Cabbage Palm trees can be seen in the distance behind the bushes, trees, and shrubs. They are there as I have indicated them.
This heavy duty gallery wrapped canvas is 24 inches high by 30 inches wide. It is two inches deep. I used acrylic paints.

Good job AnnaJo! I wish I could paint greenery that didn't look like a big mess!I just can't ever get it to look right.

Fabulous work AnnaJo! This reminds me of a truck my husband and I had years ago with the same paint job, but ours was green with yellow frames. ๐ F/L!!!
