This is an outstanding piece of work. The aura of Powell River with its resident fishing boats is portrayed beautifully. The vessel “Shirley” is very thought provoking to me personally.

Artist's Description
The Hyacinth macaw is the largest macaw in the world. They are endangered and can be found in the Pantanal of Brazil, where I observed and photographed these three, creating this 60" x 40" watercolor in my studio. This painting received The Wildlife Art Society International Award for 2013.
About Kitty Harvill
Having dual residency in both the states and Brazil, Kitty Harvill has dedicated herself to nature and wildlife art since 2006. In 2009 she was invited to Signature membership in Artists for Conservation, and in 2010, 2013 and 2014 had artworks accepted for the AFC international exhibit "The Art of Conservation". She was named "Conservation Artist of the Month" for April 2013. For three years in a row, she has received the TWASI - The Wildlife Art Society International's - International Award. She is a member of APAP, Professional Association of Painters of Parana in Curitiba, Brazil and has participated in their exhibitions.
