Thank you very much, Shoal. I was delighted to discover this!

Very cool image here Ann, I love this

Jeff, thank you for featuring Historic Windmill in the Covered Bridges or Historic Landmarks group.

Many thanks for your thoughtful comment, Kevin. I think I understand what you mean by being fascinated by lighthouses and windmills, because I am drawn to them as well. Every time I visit one of the Great Lakes where there is a lighthouse, I have to walk out on its pier no matter how many times I done so previously. I don't see windmills as often, however.

I love this image of this historic windmill!! i enjoy looking at lighthouse and windmills and i don't even know why because they don't exist in where i grow up (Hong Kong) so i don't understand why i have connection with them. this is a beautiful capture Ann, a 5 story high windmill is certainly impressive!! very charming visual effect!! i love it!! Love this master piece. The artist has truly captured our Savior. We are grateful to have his passionate work of art in our home. The print quality is good, ended up a little darker than the artist originally painted it

Artist's Description

The 68-foot, 5-story Fabyan Mill was built between 1850 and 1860 and was used to grind grain and corn until the end of the nineteenth century. Restored to operate by wind energy only, the Dutch windmill is located at the Fabyan Forest Preserve in Kane County near Geneva, Illinois. Its blades are covered with canvas in summer, when the mill is operational. It was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Copyright 2016 Ann Horn. ALL RIGHTS RESERVED.
