I fell in love the ruins of Holyrood Abbey. The magnificent architecture and engineering marvels that I saw upon further examination of the ancient rocks. I honestly could imagine what it must have been like in it day of glory. The archways were so high and the details of Mary Stuart and Lord Darnley's initials carved into the stone were amazing. It was really quite amazing to me that I stood where these two people once worshiped the Lord together. I really appreciated Holyrood Palace and seeing where the current Queen Elizabeth lives from time to time, but I loved the ancient and eroding Abbey most of all.
