Artist's Description
I created this digital illustration with the troops serving in Afghanistan & Iraq in mind. I wanted to create something for families of the troops to place in the windows of their homes throughout America. During World War II, it became popular for families to place rectangular patriotic colored emblems in their windows. In the middle of the emblem was a blue colored star denoting how many sons were serving their country. The iconic image of marines placing the American flag on Iwo Jima was a poignant moment during World War II and is something which everyone can easily identify with. I wanted families of service members to have something unique to show their support for their loved one serving our country. God bless our troops!
