The 'Hoodoos' in the Rocky Mountains at Fairmont Hot Springs, British Columbia, Canada.....weirdly shaped pillars of sand and silt created by differential rates of erosion. The legendary explanation for this geological phenomenon is much more picturesque. Indian legend says that back in the midst of time an enormous fish tried to make its way along the Rocky Mountain Trench. It was a difficult journey. Finally the fish gave up and died and as its flesh decomposed, its ribs fell apart.

As an avid photographer for many years, my tendency is to choose subjects with potential rather than things that look good to begin with and therein lies my challenge. I often look for an odd angle or composition and like most photographers, have become a keen observer. Seeking the unusual and putting a different slant on the very usual are important concepts to me. My philosophy is - photograph for oneself, be observant and strive for originality but most of all have fun.
