'Hoosier Pass Winter Landscape', a fine art landscape photograph by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. After several days of snow early in the winter in the Colorado Rocky Mountains, the sky cleared and I was greeted with a bright, sunny, blue-sky morning and a white winter wonderland surrounding me. It was beautiful, with all of the pine trees flocked with fresh snow, standing crisp against the blue sky. Mountains rose in the background: the majestic Lincoln and Bross peaks, both 14er (fourteener) peaks rising over 14,000 feet in elevation. I chose a black and white format for this composition, as I found it very visually effective and compelling, and felt it also best captured the beauty of this scene. This scene was taken at Hoosier Pass, which is near the ski community of Breckenridge, in the central Rockies.
