cute as can be!

I bought this for Christmas for my daughter-in-law who just visited Barcelona. She’s going to love it! It’s a beautiful piece and I really like the print mounted on wood.

Came out sepia color. I may have requested that by mistake. Other than that it’s good.

The artwork is stunning. The mounting on wood was awful and actually damaged the print. Had to be returned due to damage.

This particular scene is from a place very near my father’s house and the memorial bench for his late wife. He himself has taken many similar photographs of this beautiful spot. I love this photograph. I had hoped that having it printed on wood would give it additional depth and character. Unfortunately, the wood grain obscures many areas of the image. I regret not simply having it printed on canvas or having a regular framed print made.

This is simple and elegant and lovely printed on wood and hung next to a Bee by the same artist. We’re Poppy and Beebee to our grandkids so they love seeing them in the guest room.

Artist's Description

This owl is sitting on a park ranger's shoulder in a National Bird Sanctuary in Loxahatchee, Florida. Its huge yellow eyes are the center point of attention in this digital glicee photograph. This owl is exhibited at various schools and gathering-places to teach about wildlife, conservation of natural resources, care and protection of our forests, and wild birds. The owl's large eyes allows it to hunt and catch its prey in forests and on plains in the dark of night. This is a nocturnal bird which is seldom seen during the day. This was the first time I had the opportunity to come so close, face-to-face, eyes-to-eyes, with a live owl. Look deeply into its eyes as it stares back at you ... its mesmerizing! This digital glicee print makes a lovely and unusual matted and framed wall hanging, especially for a child's room. As you walk past the photo it appears that the owl's eyes are always looking right at you, following you as you walk past the photograph.

About Merton Allen

I've been involved with photography since 1939, having been introduced to it at the 1939 New York City World's Fair. I began shooting, printing, enlarging photos since I was 10 years old. I started with an old Kodak box camera. I used springs, electrical contacts and rubberbands to rig up the box camera's shutter to synchronize it to a homemade flashbulb holder, so I could photograph babies and toddlers, for pay, in their homes. I saved my earnings to accumulate sufficient funds to purchased a Kodak 35mm camera outfit in 1944. I continued this "business" through high school and into college. Immediately after graduating from college I was sworn into the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a Lieutenant, serving on active duty for 2...
