Not vivid in colour like expected also it was an expensive gift for someone that arrived screwed up in a thin polythene bag. Not even folded with card to keep in place , even budget brands on the cheap high street stores have them folded and well presented very disappointed to be honest.

Great colors literally perfect print wise! I just wish it was thicker like a warm blanket. But look wise it was perfect. I used it for a contest I was doing.

Artist's Description

The first week of August was a scorcher. The temperatures were in the thirties every day and there was not a whole lot of cloud in the sky - except for first thing in the morning. There were some gravity waves in this cloud pattern and since the cloud was higher in the atmosphere in the seven to eight thousand foot range, that was the only real clue of a stable warm frontal surface. In any event, it would be very unlikely to rain and the drought would continue. I painted on the rough side of a thick masonite panel. I liked the effect of the paint on the coarse grain even though it was very tough on my brushes. I could almo...

About Phil Chadwick

Trained at Queens University as a nuclear physicist, Phil the Forecaster has been a professional meteorologist since 1976. Painting has however been his passion forever. For ten years, he studied under the late Mario Airomi, a famous Italian artist. Phil paints what he knows best: weather, nature, canoes and his family. There are not enough hours in the day to record the inspiration that abounds. Phil paints mainly en plein air striving for impressionistic realism. Something intangible and sometimes magical enters the art when one is actually out in the elements surrounded by inspiration. Bold colours and shapes can be found in the natural world if you only look. Phils art hangs in many private and corporate collections around the...
