Looks great in NY office

Decent reproduction of part of of the Monet "Waterlilies" panels in the Orangerie in Paris. Make sure not to get a wide black frame as I did: it really attracts too attention away from the image. Get a very thin black rectangular frame instead.

Very poor reproduction of painting in Florence; details are lost, especially of the hair. The painting, though ostensibly the reproduction comes from the Bridgeman Art Library, becomes a muddled dark brownish image. Also the image is cropped badly on the left, losing a good part of the sleeve and shoulder of the white garment. Avoid at all cost. I can't believe Fineartamerica is selling this as is.

Artist's Description

Model: Ravi Morrison Location: Fort Worth Stockyards The title comes from Maya Angelou's "I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings." Overall, the shots are about the beautiful, sudden, intrepid moments that go unfulfilled. As such, they are not real, nor are they expected to be. Some measure of a nostalgia not lived yet not fully imaginative. They simply are a diversion on tangented chance. As such, some level of surrealism is to be expected as the photographic memory cannot be expected to craft everything on its own. The careered dancer would be found dancing in venues and theatres as the imagined would be far more surreal. The location, the pose, the colors, every last movement speaks of this surrealism, this rise and fall and above all, isolation.

About Zane Kunning

A desperate existentialist with a camera, a pen, and an unoriginal name that needed to be firmly assassinated with a good pseudonym.
