Amy Nordby was born in 1971 in Meriden, Connecticut and from an early age she was exposed to art and nature which gave her a passion for both. She went to Cheshire Academy where she picked up her love for painting. After seeing Salvador Dali's "Persistence of Memory", it inspired her to paint herself. Surrealism became her style during the high school and college years. At Franklin Pierce University she received a B.A. in Graphic Communications with a minor in Fine Arts. Her father, being an extremely smart man, pushed her to pursue a Graphics degree and just minor in arts for he didn't want her to starve. And so she ate!
