Description
"I pass and I seduce" it is what French (from France) woodcock hunters with pointing dogs they say about the woodcock, in France and in Europe it is the Eurasian Woodcock that they have, here in North America it is the American Woodcock that we have.
Now taking an in-flight photo of the woodcock (the same for the Ruffed Grouse) it is not like for others birds, the woodcock that is in the woodland's or forest's ground hided in the vegetations (if we do not search it) we don't see it, and at the take-off we don't know which was will fly the woodcock.
This photo is taken today (Friday) at Diva’s pointing Braque Français to my friend Michel. Diva pointing in front of us at + or - 75 meters, in making my way trough golden rods I reach the height of Diva but I have not yet time to place myself that the woodcock takes off and passes in front of me, alas I brought the lens of my DSLR too far forward and I cut the tail of the woodcock.

I can imagine how difficult it would be to capture a bird-in-flight that has been flushed. You captured this one in excellent focus and I like how we see it entering the frame, Asbed! L/F
