The horses in Iceland are different than anywhere else on Earth. They are much smaller than our horses here, and they are safe enough that they often lie down in the grass as this one was doing. They have 5 different gaits - the normal 4 - walk, trot, canter, and gallop - plus a fifth which supposedly makes them exceedingly comfortable to ride. Hopefully I'll get to find out the next time I visit this magical land!

A bit more about my trip to Iceland: I was simply on a 3 day stopover on my way home from Europe, and little did I know that I would fall in love! Iceland is the most beautiful place I have ever been! The moment I got home from the trip, I began to plan my next trip which happened in Summer 2016 when I led a Retreat for Creatives all over Southern Iceland.
