The Quincy Veterans Home (QVH), in picturesque, historic Quincy is the oldest and largest of the Illinois Veterans Homes. It was the original Soldiers and Sailors Home until 1974, when the name was changed. QVH's primary mission is to provide domiciliary and nursing home care to eligible veterans, spouses of veterans and spouses of deceased veterans. To this end, QVH has on-campus residential barracks, dementia/Alzheimer unit, and many support services (including dietary, physical therapy, laundry, pharmacy, chaplain, security, barber/beautician, and more), as well as a post office, bank, library, coffee shop, deer park and their own TV station.
