Such a powerful picture - and each of us has a light we could share if only we would do so. Love this so much. F/L

Very impressive water color, Saigon! You have really captured the light so well, especially with this difficult medium. Congratulations!

This was your first painting ever? You painted it with your soul... f/v
SAIGON De Manila replied:
THanks Paula..what a moving comment..it was actually the 2nd (next to a classroom 2colored tone practice titled primus fructus )..but basically this is the first try after 2 art session on basic painting. Oh yes I put my soul next skipping my meals!

Hi Saigon, Found bible. The painting is by Georges de la Tour (1593-1652) And depicts Joseph the carpenter and the child Jesus, holding the candle. The similiarities to your work are clear.

Oh my....you're giving me goose bumps Maria. But googling in a flash i see some similar darky, yellowish color ala renaissance distinction.

This reminds me of a painting in an old bible I have somewhere, will dig it out and let u know who srtist is, it may be Carravaggio or Rembrandt.

Loved this piece the most in your work. Shows strong Hope.... keep it alive... keep it burning...keep it illuminating...saving it from strong winds...the message is crystal, very fine work in water colour.
