Every photographer attempts to get that one still image showing action. A car with the wheels blurred or an airplane with the propellers spinning. While attending a Celtic Festival I became obsessed with a local blacksmith. The fire, the metals, the ash, the technique. Managed to capture the hammer visually still, but upon closer inspection you can see the impact with the debris exploding from the iron.

My name is John Gagnon, also known as Johnny Red. After spending years doing film work, and finding myself alone without my film working friends around anymore, I decided I wanted to do art in a solo capacity. What could I do that is all mine? All my effort? No relying on others? I picked up a cheap camera and put my cinematic knowledge to use in Photography.
