Our beloved Foxtrotter horse Greyboy died suddenly yesterday of a twisted gut complicated by a heart murmur. We are reeling, as are his equine buddies. We will always miss his sweet nature and the wonderful mountain trails he took us on.
I have been an artist since I was knee high to a short-horned locust. My dad, Willoughby Senior (FAA) was a professional artist and writer and I have stepped in his shoes since I was born, though he drew horses better than I did when I was a kid. My family lived in a hand-hewn log cabin we built ourselves in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and had no water or electricity. I love my life with my husband and family in Wyoming among the horses, gophers, deer, antelope, coyotes, red-tailed hawks, and the wild landscape. My work is driven by the land, animals, wild plants and birds I have come to know so well. Hummingbirds still try to get nectar from my upturned fingers. My artwork consists of all these things and more...

What a beautiful painting in honor of "Greyboy!" It gives me thoughts of Star who was the one who used to follow me everywhere. When he grew older, he ate all the other horses tails so he would walk around with great flowing tail and all the other hoses had very short tails! He was black with a white star on his forehead. Greyboy was beautiful too! You make me remember my "Horse stories!" V/F
