Description
This piece has won multiple awards including a cash award at the 2007 Ink and Clay exhibition at the Kellogg Gallery at Cal State Technical Institute in Pomona, CA.
In-Line Study sold at A/NT Gallery in 2019. This drawing is essentially a practice piece. It is my representation of a microchip, which details the actual nano technology that can only be seen through a high powered microscope. A previous drawing (Chapter #22) titled Sense the Savior was the first drawing I had ever added multiple colors on it's border. Then Dream Link (Chapter #23) sold to an engineering friend of mine that is of Asian descent. His culture and heritage is comprised of a tremendous amount of color in their lifestyle, clothing, etc. So he and his wife asked me if I would add multiple colors to the original drawing. I had already purchased about 20 different colored inks made by Higgins* so with 3 weeks of creative addition, Dream Link became my first full color original. They loved the finished work and there is no reproductions of the full color original.
But now I had all these colored inks and after spending 13 months creating my first 2 large format drawings(Visions of the Enigmatist and DNA Prophecy), I decided to use all the inks in this piece In-Line Study. It opened up a whole new perspective on color and caused my black and white streak to colorfully adjust.
This piece sold to a buyer 13 years after it's creation and she absolutely fell in love with the graphic nature of the layout and the variety of colors that I used.
