The old Fairy Tree at the hill of Tara, Meath, Ireland is one of my favourite places in the world. Usually, we tie a rag loosely to the branch and make a wish. Other's leave small gifts or weave some grass to tie on it. Some call it the Rag Tree and other's a Prayer Tree. People have been asked to stop sticking coins into the bark as this was damaging this ancient Hawthorn. there is a lovely timeless energy in this place and is worth a visit if you come to Ireland. My daughter in this image decided to get into the tree and give it a hug!

I absorbed the basics of life and painting from my father, James Cassidy. In the late 1970's I spent five years working in a Graphic Design studio in Dublin City. The influence of that discipline can be seen in some of my paintings. I enjoy experimenting with various painting styles and mediums also photography and lately, digital art.
