Artist's Description
In the Land of Brigadoon. A fanciful composite of Arcadia Valley near the state's highest point, Taum Sauk Lookout in Ironton, Missouri: In foreground, boulders of Elephant Rocks State Park, flag and hole No. 1 at AV County Club, dam and spillway at Shepherd Mountain Lake; "The Maples" estate red water tower; Pilot Knob Mountain, St. Paul's Episcopal Church (c. 1870), the antebellum courthouse (1860) tucked into Shepherd Mountain; distant bald eagles emerging from recent near-extinction; mountain-top Taum Sauk Reservoir at far distant right; and Business Highway 21 dividing the valley. Some visitors compare this area to the Highlands of Scotland, perhaps reminicent of the Hollywood film, "Brigadoon". In the film, Brigadoon is not on the map and, similarly, the community, Arcadia Valley, for which we are known, is, technically, not on the map. Available in print sizes to 8" x 16".

I can only echo Kens' words - you are a truly gifted artist Kip. I have enjoyed a time in Brigadoon before it disappeared once more but hopefully it will re emerge with even more treasures.. Thank you forl your comments on viewed pieces of my work - I loved the critique - not too often one can have a free art lesson from a gifted artist - a new learning. I loved it - thank you, You asked if one was watercolour and yes it is watercolour. The Tarr Steps were something to be believed - goodness - I was not able to capture the true size but to stand on the bridge where people for absolute centuries before had used it - mind boggling.
Kip DeVore replied:
Thank you, Sibby.
