This photograph was captured in 1985 in Southern China, most probably between Nanjing and Shanghai. I would have been traveling via train, and enjoying the beautiful countryside. Production of rice in China is an highly important since it is a staple food, and it is a major part of the national economy. China is the world's largest producer of rice, and the crop makes up a little less than half of the country's total grain output. China accounts for 30% of all world rice production. I have enjoyed taking photos since I was a little girl, but especially began learning about the skill and art of photography in college; however, as years went by I, like most of us, put the camera in the drawer and would pull it out only for special occasions.
