I was disappointed that the image on this pouch was not very clear. The zipper doesn't work real well, either.

I used a texture from Shadowhouse Creations for added depth to the fire.
I always wanted to try photography, and my retirement offered an opportunity to do just that. The natural world is my first love. Here you will find pictures of things both large (landscapes, for instance) and small (macro) that catch my eye. I hope the images serve as a window into the natural world many of you don't have the chance to see. In a sense, I'm trying to create a guided nature trail, sharing what information I have about the subject. I'm always grateful for new and better information and welcome all input. Learning is food for the mind and soul. Nothing is ever harmed in the picture-taking process, but some things that wander into our home (like spiders) are carefully removed from the house after they serve as "models"....

Awesome work!!
Carol Senske replied:
Thanks, Bill! There's a universal draw to a fire, kind of like the moth to a flame thing. Thanks for the terrific comment!!!!!
Rory Sagner
Just like in "real" life, the fire here draws one in and stimulates the imagination and contemplation. It's like looking into another world and a very powerful image. v/f
Carol Senske replied:
How lovely a comment, Rory:>). My mind always seems to go to making a story and I'm glad you went there, too. Big appreciation for the V/F!
Sandra Bronstein
Wonderful work Carol!
Carol Senske replied:
So nice of you to take the time to visit and comment! Thanks:>)
Lianne Schneider
This is just as fabulous without the poetry - perhaps more so only because it leaves so much to the viewer's imagination. I'm with Bob - my first thought was Dante...and the gates of hell. F/V
Carol Senske replied:
Yuh - the poetry isn't a good idea and I'm taking it down for further work. My brother is an accomplished poet and he said he'll help me learn to do a decent Haiku - in other words, this one is not ready for general consumption:>). I love your comment; it is what I was thinking as I worked with it and so far from what I was thinking when I took the picture! Sometimes images just morph on their own. Thanks, Lianne!!!
Bob Orsillo
I can see Dante and Beatice walking past the flames, lost in conversation. This came out so good Carol! - v/f
Carol Senske replied:
Very elevated praise coming from you. It does seem more like the entrance to the Inferno than a softly cracking and glowing wood stove:>). "Something wicked this way comes", to borrow from Shakespeare or Bradbury (or both). Thanks for the V/F!
Odd Jeppesen
What a fantastic image.
Carol Senske replied:
Such nice word, "fantastic":>) Thank you every so much, Odd!
