Using as a wallet
This is the ninth demonstration piece from the Wilson Street Studio Art Retreat in Prince Edward County. The participants of the Wilson Street Studio Art Retreat in Prince Edward County wanted to learn how to paint boldly - to "roar like a lion. I tried to set the example between visiting all of the participants.
I wanted to try to entice the participants of the Wilson Street Studio Art Retreat in Prince Edward County to do just one more painting surrounded by inspiration before they left for home. The location had to be convenient so what could be easier than in front of their room. My ploy didn't work but I completed the painting anyway.
I struck up a conversation with Dave, one of the three owners of the home and three acres. He was doing much of the renovations by himself. Dave invited us over to paint on his property. That is Dave up on the roof applying a layer of ice and water shield.... but I did not include him in the plein air painting.
I paint outside - nothing between my eyes and the inspiration. That special connectivity gets into the pigments and you quickly realize that we are all stewards of the land, privileged to appreciate its beauty during our lifetime but responsible for leaving the environment better off for the future and all inhabitants... Phil was born and raised along the St. Lawrence of Ontario, Canada and studied at Queens University as a nuclear physicist. A meteorologist for Environment Canada for 35 years, Phil specializes in severe weather and training. Remote sensing is his forte - you might want to see a tornado before you die... but not just before you die! He has farmed, raised bees, written books and articles, lectured and instructed...
