Trying to capture the feeling I get when listening to the song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". I feel love, warmth, connection and comfort. I try to represent those in the warm colors used to create the painting, the symbol of the sun, the nurturing hand offering comfort, and the vulnerability in bruddah IZs face.
This song is special to my family. My son was diagnosed with parks webber syndrome as a baby and every night I would hold him and sing this song to him, hoping to remind him that my life was paradise now that he was here, regardless of anything. He was perfect and he was beautiful and I wanted to remind him of that every night.
