Description
"It's Bristol Baby" is a slogan that racing fans everywhere are familiar with. Here in Bristol Tennessee, fans of short track will fill the stadium to its 162,000 capacity. Short track means that there will be slower speeds and with many cars in a small space a higher incidence of yellow caution flags. Mind boggling steep banks and the stadium like seating seems to offset that fact.
The fans of short track are descendants of an earlier time in America when county fairs and smaller venues hosted these races before the advent of super speedways.
BMS is a vital part of the areas economy. Fans will gather days and weeks ahead to view the action. Local camp sites are filled with RV's. Some of these people have been attending these races for decades and have formed lifelong friendships as a result.
Bristol Tennessee is also known as the Birthplace of Country Music. It has a thriving main street which is known for one side being in Virginia and the other side of the street being Tennessee. Boasts art galleries, antique shops and restaurants and once a year downtown is closed to traffic while the Rhythm and Roots Festival takes place.
I believe this photo whether framed or as a poster or coffee mug will make an ideal gift for any fan whether they be fans of racing, music or Tennessee
