This looks gorgeous printed on wood. It is now hanging on my therapy office wall and is perfect. The color is true to the photo. I love it.

Very pleased with the image, color, printing . My selection of printing onto wood is great for this image. There are a few mildly dark lines which are natural to wood. They show through the image and contribute to the image--glad that none of these was over the face of the horse rider.

Artist's Description
This piece was painted in 2007 and has been held snugly in the protective custody one of my favourite local collectors. I have decided to offer it for acquisition exclusively through Xanadu Gallery in celebration of our new relationship. www.xanadugallery.com
When this piece was painted, I had wanted to capture the feeling I had while sailing in the tropics. I had become tired of blue and the ocean and so endeavoured to capture that bright, vibrant color and feeling of the jungle that we experienced nearly everyday for the six months we cruised before coming to Charleston, SC.
The piece is painted almost entirely with an iron, except for the palm tree on the left. That was painted with a stylus pen and then at the bottom is some very rare brush work. It is rarely that I paint with actual brushes. It takes one dip of the brush to one stroke of the brush before the wax has cooled. Very tedious! I am quilty of immediate gratification when it comes to painting. I...

ABOUT DANITA COLE - ENCAUSTIC FINE ART PAINTER: I have lived my life upon the Ocean. I am the daughter of a smuggler and grand daughter of a pirate. I raised both my sons aboard my sailboat and chose to paint instead of piracy...mostly. As a member of the Ocean Artists Society, my work is about the Ocean, but also about helping those who are unable to experience the ocean visually. I paint what I see because I want to bring that into someones life, both visually and in a tactile way, even if they cannot see with their eyes.
