FAA WATERCOLOR MARK WILL NOT APPEAR ON FINAL SALES
While visiting the San Diego Zoo I was fortunate to find an unusual mammal known as the Javelina, who was prowling around looking for some plants of fruits to eat that had been laid out for him. These animals have a poor sense of eye sight and have to rely on their strong sense of smell to find their food and their very strong snout to help dig up the dirt and locate additional food. The Javelina travels in squadrons when going out to hunt for food, again their strong sense of smell helps them smell any predators that may be around. The Javelina is also known to dwell in caves, and canyons anywhere where it will be cool. Even if they are hungry and it is to hot outside they will wait till night time to go hunting for food. They usually reproduce during the months of June through August. This was an animal I had never come across before so to see it and be able to acquire several clear shots was a thrill.
