Description
This is the view from the Appalachian Trail above Harpers Ferry, where the Shenadoah joins the Potomac River. Thomas Jefferson famously stated that the sight was "Worth a trip across the Atlantic." The painting was created as part of a series of 14 paintings made while I was Artist-in-Residence at Harpers Ferry National Historical Park in 2003. Somerset Velvet paper is recommended for prints.
