The artist is my son and is very talented. In high school he was accepted by Chicago Art Institute but couldn’t afford the tuition. He graduated from Fredonia State University with a Fine Art degree.
The southern end of La Jolla CA, USA has this amazing rock formation with vertical layers of sandstone slabs that have been worn lengthwise from ocean all the way up the beach to the foot path. Most of the times this sandstone is underwater unless there is a very low tide. Then out comes the wonderful erosion both natural and man-made. The man made areas are usually where people have carved their initials into the sandstone with harder materials. In this particular case I found a wonderful "Jesus", heart and cross carving. From 2003 – 2016 I was in business as a commercial photographer. Now I am a busy & successful fine artist. I have been blessed to be a galleried, juried,...

Thank you Barbara. It must have taken some time to carve. It's actually quite deep in the rock. And the tide is normally higher, this was a rare low tide.
