Description
The blocks of ice building this sculpture have been cut and sculpted in different geometrical shapes (triangles, parallelograms, polygons) and textures (patterns), and assembled to form a wall with an uneven top, like the crenelle in castles. After all, this is Carnival time in Quebec City. The ice wall is transparent, translucent, and behind this see-through wall, we can see a big French window with its reflecting glass pane embedded in an old New France stone wall.
Photo shot during the 2016 Winter Carnival of Quebec City, Canada. Was part of an ice sculpted bar/installation/decoration located outdoor on a very popular street during this event: la Grande Allee.
