Very nice bath towel. It is very large and thick. The picture is so pretty.

Very unique piece of art. Displayed in my living room and admired. Will highly recommend.

Daughter-in-law has the shower curtain, which she loves, and thought I'd get the hand towel to go with it. Didn't give it to her. The photo shows the entire towel, not what it looks like folded. When folded you only see some of the "splatters" on the bottom. If you turn it around the zebra's head is upside down. The way it's currently being produced, it isn't a suitable image for a hand towel.

I love the design but wanted to buy a towel that actually gets used - high polyester content makes that dubious. also: I was hoping to support American Artists as well as manufacturers - this sentiment got killed by giant "MADE IN CHINA" tag. Very sad.

Artist's Description

John Howard Payne was born in New York City in 1791, and grew up to become a well-known writer. His poem "Home, Sweet Home" was put to music and became a widely popular song of the 1800s, and led to great success for him. In 1842, the song was a factor in President John Tyler appointing Payne to be the American Consul in Tunis, where he died in 1852. At that time it was not possible to bring Payne's body home to America to be buried, so he was laid to rest in St. George's Protestant Cemetery in Tunis. But in a way, Payne did return "home, sweet home" when a memorial to him was erected in Oak Hill Cemetery in Washington, D.C. This is a photograph of the stone bust of Payne that is at the top of the memorial.

About Cora Wandel

I enjoy photography and writing, and sometimes think of myself as a photojournalist. If there is a story to be told with a photograph, I tell it. As a longtime resident of Washington, DC, a lot of my photographs are of this area, and I enjoy writing in the description something about the shot -- it could be a short statement about an equestrian statue in the middle of a park, or a more intimate tale of the mausoleum where Abraham Lincoln's son, Willie, was entombed for the remaining three years of Lincoln's presidency after the boy's death. These photographs are contained in the aptly named "Washington DC" Collection. In addition to "WDC" there are eight other Collections on this page, and two of my favorites are "Paintings" and...
