Extraordinary piece!!
Marlene Burns replied:
I rue the fact that I sold so many of these Kachinas without ever photographing them...I've learned a lot since then! Thanks, Angela!

Marlene -- simply unique and wonderful. Years ago, while visiting a friend at Sky City, NM (he is an Acoma Indian) he explained to me, at length, the story of the kachina. It was an incredible experience. L/F
Marlene Burns replied:
Thanks, Bill...my goal was to give these ancient dolls a 21st century feel. The entire series is lost, but most sold very well!

helena, thank you so much for your kind comments...this series is all but lost to me....so many were sold without photographs as keepsakes and what is left, are poor quality images. The kachina, both hopi and zuni just grabbed me...i felt like i had no choice but to paint them....

Beautiful use of the Southwestern colors in the Kachina and Raptor themed pieces. My personal favorites of your portfolio Marlene. Thank you for the congrats.

Another wild Kachina. Very nice design and colors! Thanks again for your compliments on my Geese and Bison paintings. I love your words and will cherish them!
