Super happy how print came out, but looks a little less vibrant even after just a cool water quick wash. Still nice looking, but would have preferred the vibrancy to have remained.

In Hawai'i the tradition of Hula is a very important part of the local culture. Children begin dancing very young in Hula Hālaus. A hālau is the group that boys and girls, women and men join to learn, practice and perform hula. Many children stay with the same hālau their entire lives. The forms of hula are many, including ancient dances that are accompanied by the iconic ipu drum for beat and the haunting chanting of the kumu, telling the story of the dance in Hawaiiana language. Other dances depict more recent events and styles of costume, such as these two adorable girls are wearing.

As a fine-art photographer of many years (initially in black and white large format film), my purpose is to capture and share the incredible beauty in our world. I have a passion for travel and photographing the many places I have been fortunate to explore. I am enthralled by both the grand scene of a live volcano or brilliant sunrise and the amazing detail and design of each tiny part of a flower. There is beauty and design in everything around us and the goal of my work is to share that and encourage everyone to look closely and take the time to see what is before us all.
