Love the painting and the rich colorful blues, reds, greens, & yellows! A nice addition to our cowboy/southwest decor vibe.

Beautifully expressed rendition of the Shrine of the Bab. The frame and matting showcase the print. We have it prominently on our living room wall with other sacred pictures.

I think the frame and mat work very well with this, it is really impressive in person. Grouped with a small Grant Wood with high quality lighting it sets the mood for a Georgia farmhouse.
Artist's Description
Ken Follets Cathedral Nº2.
Saint Mary's Cathedral in the Basque city of Vitoria-Gasteiz, Spain. This is probably one of the worst built cathedrals still standing and it is precisely this fact that makes it special. The citizens of Gasteiz have fought relentlessly over the centuries to prevent it from crumbling down.
Here we can see the reinforcements that were added to sustain the extra weight when the wooden ceiling was replaced by a stone one after a fire some centuries ago. However these were not enough and the old cathedral had to be closed and undergo severe restoration during the last two decades.
The reinforcement of the foundations led to the excavation of the ground and this uncovered buried treasure of the far past, remains of older temples and graves that date back to the Roman empire. All this findings are now preserved and displayed under glass floors in several places, turning this old cathedral into one of the most peculiar ones.

About Weston Westmoreland
Hi there, Born in '72 and shooting pictures since '83, I particularly enjoy creating wide panoramic compositions, HDRs, HDR Panoramas... But not just... Here you will find landscapes and cityscapes, ancient ruins and modern buildings, moons and seas, planes and boats, guns and flowers, animals and machines, forests and deserts, vanguard and prehistory, digital and film, color and black & white, graves and newborns, temples, trenches, palaces, castles, tanks, churches, bunkers... However, they have some things in common: they are meaningful images, I believe them all to be beautiful, and they are for the most part unique. Come in and judge for yourself. W. W. WE CAN CUSTOMIZE ANY PICTURE TO YOUR PERSONAL LIKING AND MAKE IT...

Spectacular!
Gillian Singleton
I love this image, the textures and the light and the angle that it was taken.
Weston Westmoreland replied:
Thank you, Gillian. I love the way the masonry shows the blocks. Lots of different pieces. We tend to forget this is no industrial brickwork. It is handmade to the last detail. Gothic Cathedrals are astonishing.
Joan Carroll
love this, and loved the books! v
Weston Westmoreland replied:
Thank you, Joan. I sort of loved-hated Pillars. Won't read the sequel. I love historical novel, but Follet is unnecessarily cruel with his characters, I think.
Dawn Currie
I have featured this wonderful artwork in Images of Europe group on Fine Art America – congratulations!
Weston Westmoreland
Thank you, Lilliana. To be honest, the perspective was not my free choice. I had to place the mini-tripod against a column. I liked what I saw and shot the HDR, but I probably wouldn't have come across this perspective if I had been free to place my tripod normally :) A little of luck comes handy at times, uh?
Lilliana Mendez
Masterful Image. Beautiful Lines, Depth and Composition.
Stephanie Grant
Beautiful work! V
Weston Westmoreland replied:
Thank you, Stephanie. This is a relatively small building to be a Cathedral and has suffered so many incidents its a miracle it still stands. However, thanks to that it can now be visited in a very special way.
