Description
Kirk Douglas is aiming his pistol at a fisheye lens. Master cinematographer James Wong Howe reluctantly used one, at the urging of director John Frankenheimer, in his lensing of "Seconds" (1966).
"Seconds" was one of the last A pictures shot in black and white in Hollywood. In fact the black and white cinematography category for Oscar nominations was soon phased out. I remember being the only customer in the audience watching the movie at the Strand Theater in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota.
The fisheye can be seen at the beginning and at the end of this trailer for "Seconds."
