Description
Knee arthroscopy. Artwork of an arthroscope (joint endoscope) being used to look at a healthy anterior cruciate ligament in the knee. Ligaments are bands of inelastic fibrous tissue that connect bones to other bones. The anterior cruciate ligament connects the femur (thigh bone, top) to the tibia (shin bone, bottom centre), and prevents them from moving too much in relation to one other. An arthroscope is an endoscope used to look at joints.
