La fleur de Lotus Star of Zanzibar Blue Water Lily Kula Maui Hawaii Nymphaea N. Star of Zanzibar is a tropical waterlily created by Rich Sacher. It has purple blue star petals and heavily marked pads. It's parentage is Morning Star x N. Purple Zanzibar. It's publication date is 2000. It won the Banksian Medal for the best Waterlily of 2000. Tropical water lily with lavender-blue star-shaped flowers and gold centers. Blooms from summer to winter. It has round green folage mottled with purple. They are easy to care for. Water Lilies dislike moving water. It is an annual in colder climates. Star Of Zanzibar Tropical Water Lily features showy fragrant lavender cup-shaped flowers with blue overtones and gold eyes at the ends of the stems from early summer The flowers are excellent for cutting. It's attractive glossy round leaves remain green in colour with distinctive purple spots throughout the year. The fruit is not ornamentally significant. Star Of Zanzibar Tropical Water Lily is an herbaceous evergreen aquatic perennial with a low habit of growth, spreading atop the surface of the water. This particular variety is an interspecific hybrid.
