This tote bag is gorgeous! I saw a picture of it and had to have it. The colors are just beautiful. The size is better than I expected, because it's larger than I had envisioned it. It is practical and functional as well as beautiful. I'm very happy with this purchase.

Subconscious Painting.
23" x 18" Original Pastel Painting on Pastelmat paper
From Subconscious Painting Series "Dream Quest of the Pink Horse", (Reveries du Cheval Rose) is the first one. I am fascinated by the fact that dreams are always very realistic in all aspects, form, color, everything like you see everyday in your life, your mind sees a frog or a horse or a jellyfish just as it is in nature but as soon as you wake up, if you need to paint one of those images, where is it? What did it look like? Why was it so clear a minute ago while you were sleeping and now it is gone! As my night dreams are so numerous and vivid I often remember just about everything and I am exploring with pastel painting the art of RECALLING those images directly form the source of the dream. I want to remember and be there and see and draw what my mind's eye can remember, bit by bit with patience from the dream world. By morning - I wish I could paint in my sleep! - I would have a tho...
Creating a piece of jewelry often starts from an inspiring colored stone. I chose my materials carefully and appreciate quality in everything. Color has always been a well of joy and energy for me and I have found that painting with pastel is a more direct approach that is fulfilling my desire to create and work with color. I very much paint with my fingers as I like to blend my pastels. I find inspiration through reflecting on my inner thoughts and my dreams that have always been vivid and present. I like recalling those images in my journey to become more intuitive and aware of my creative world. I continue being very active in creating jewelry, specializing in custom wedding rings and very intricate and personalized pieces that...

Try this: I keep a sketch pad by my bed, jot down the dream and go back to sleep. ;0) This is lovely, it feels like a dream. I love the frog being carried forward by bees. The placement of ocean life, flying bugs, animals, water, earth and sky... really cool.
Marie-Claire Dole replied:
Thank you Lisa, yes, I have paper and a pencil on my night table too, ideas can't wait...

Really interesting piece of artwork you have created here Marie. The best way I have found to remember dreams is as so as you wake up even if it the middle of the night. Try thinking the whole dream over before thinking of any thing else. Sometime I'll even draw a quick sketch to help me. I always have something close to me to draw with even when sleeping. It works for me and hope it will help you also. Dream are a great place to start a work of art from. I found shadows are a great help in creating artwork.

Marie-Claire, your eloquently enigmatic description of this powerfully surrealistic painting suggests that you may possibly be a very real interloper in your own subconscious - an amazing ability in itself; that you can paint the visions you've experienced so vividly is something rare indeed. Exceptional work!
