Lake View Hotel, Mount Arlington, New Jersey on Lake Hopatcong. This imagery was originally featured on postcards from Edward Wells by The Collotype Co. of Elizabeth, NJ and New York City which published postcards from 1907-1957.
The Lake View House (Lake View Hotel) originally built in 1864, then expanded in 1879, was the first hotel to be built in Mount Arlington and was the 2nd largest hotel on Lake Hopatcong with about 100 rooms on 29 acres and 700 feet of lake frontage. The first post office at Lake Hopatcong was located at the Lake View House. The building was eventually destroyed by fire in 1964.
This is a new derivative work of the original image. The original image has been scanned, digitally repaired and enhanced by me to bring out it's detail, and to make the image look as it would have when it was new, back in the day.
Please note: "The Fine Art America" watermark in the corner of the image will not appear on your purchased order.
