Metal Print Reviews (2615)

Average Rating (5 Stars):

October 22nd, 2018

I ordered a metal print of this image and the metal came chipped and the print layer peeling, the quality of the photo was also very unimpressive, if you are going to sell up to 40 inches wide i would expect the resolution of the image to be very high and capable of the print without a loss of quality. Fine Art America also does not pay for return shipping, which cost me 60 dollars. So im out 60 dollars and have nothing in return.

October 21st, 2018

This picture should not be blown up to this size as it resulted in a low quality rendering. I attempted to initiate return today, before the 30-day window of receiving it. However, I was informed that the 30-day return window applies to the day of order.

Very nice. I have in my bedroom. Metallic - color is so vibrant.

Beautiful. Love the wording. Colors are vibrant but not obnoxious. I have in my hallway.

October 21st, 2018

I have done several mission trips to Zambia. I have some art work in one of my bathrooms and this fit nicely with two masks at the side. I ordered this in metallic.

When I first saw this, I knew it would be a great match in my dining room. I wanted something more modern than the usual dining room pics. The colors are fabulous. I ordered in the metallic finish.

Artist's Description

A laser beam is fired into the night sky from an observatory on the island of Maui, Hawaii, as part of a programme of research on crustal geodynamics. The beam is reflected back from a mirror on a sat- ellite orbiting Earth, to provide the first really precise measurements of continental drift. Several satellites are used for this research, & laser beams are fired at them from observatories on different continents, enabling scientists to build up a more exact picture of how the continents are moving towards or away from each other. Curving star trails are seen in the long-exposure photo.

About Nasa

Science Photo Library was founded in 1981 by Michael Marten, one of the authors of "Worlds Within Worlds", a book exploring different ways to observe the universe - from electron micrographs, to images of earthrise taken from the Apollo spacecraft. When Marten started receiving requests for the beautiful images in the book, he had an idea of setting up Science Photo Library. Since then, Science Photo Library has continued to work alongside world acclaimed photographers and the leading science and medical experts to provide a central source of the best science and specialist imagery available. Although the collection started with scientific images, it has grown to encompass all aspects of science and their impact on everyday life.
