Absolutely loved my print. The depth and details are spectacular and the quality of the print is fantastic. I framed this in a white frame and didn't have the exact size handy so kept the lower space intentionally open. I love how it came out.

I bought this for a friend who lived in France for many years. Now that she is back in the states she misses France her favorite country. When I spoke with her on the phone she absolutely loved it. It showed all the places she lived or visited. She loved that it had an antique flair. She is getting it framed when she can. This my gift for her to bring up her spirits. She has stage 4 cancer. We live in 2 different cities & are comrades & would do anything for each other. When I saw it in the website I knew I had to buy it. Great work. Artist's Description
This is an original painting based on WW1 artefacts held at the Lancashire Infantry Museum in Preston, England and adapted from one of a series of photographs I took there a few years ago. The aim was to produce a though-provoking piece based on authentic articles worn by British and Commonwealth infantry soldiers in WW1. Painted on smooth nappa leather in my unique art-on-leather style.
My previous poppy paintings have been 'Tommy', ‘Solitude’ and ‘Fallen’ also exhibited by this gallery. Those pieces of artwork were also hand painted on leather and all have since sold.
About Karl Hamilton-Cox
Karl lives on the outskirts of Hereford in England, he is a full-time artist specialising in wildlife, military and figurative art. He is also known as the 'leather artist' supplying commission art to private customers as well as contract leather artwork to UK fashion designers and brands on leather clothing and accessories.. His artwork is realist in nature that covers many genres with an illustrative theme.
